I joined with Maeve back in February 2021 while we were in the middle of a lockdown in Ireland. I was in a difficult place in my life in general and was going through the motions. I was unhappy with how I looked, my diet consisted of over eating and ordering too many takeaways and obsessing about the number on the scales. I signed up with BBS as a complete beginner to training with the goal of losing weight and heavy emphasis on form and technique. 

We started off with home workouts (2 upper and 2 lower) and Maeve encouraged me to record my sessions for her to review and give me feedback to implement for my next training day. She was so responsive and patient. This helped me realise that we all do really start off somewhere and the more I improved week-to-week; the more confident I grew to start training in a gym. I learned so much about nutrition. I came from a SW background and I was obsessed with the number on the scales. Maeve spent time educating me about flexible dieting, the importance of getting enough protein and not to fear carbs and encouraged me to not fixate on the number on the scales and to take pictures to track progress. I have been eating batch bread, chocolate oats, smoothies, and granola. It's all about balance and applying the 80/20 approach and not to punish yourself when you are eating. You don't have to be constantly on a diet and learning that food is fueling my body and not storing fat. 

My life has changed so much over the past year and it's really all thanks to BBS and the girls in the community. Training has become one of my daily habits now and it's something that I genuinely enjoy. I can't recommend Maeve enough.

🔥 When life happens I’ve learned how to better navigate it and cope by leaning on exercise, being active and controlling the controllables rather than throwing everything out the window and going MIA.

My form and technique also continue to improve and knowledge of what types of exercises benefit each muscle group and the why behind everything. For me though the growth has been more internal and mentally. That saying that says

‘You can go to the gym, eat the right food but until you deal with the shit in your head you’ll remain unhealthy’ a little extreme but you get the point. 🙏🏻❤️

Maeve Is Amazing.

I joined BBC back in July when Aus went into lockdown. I had only a few items to use and an empty garage.

Maeve gave me a 4-day programme that even though I didn’t have any major heavy weights still made an impact.

But that is not what I loved about the programme the most, Maeve totally changed my attitude to food. I no longer have this stupid mentally of you can’t eat bread or chocolate or pizza, coz ya can!

Also as someone who has just qualified recently as a PT, her knowledge is next level, just by following her page, I have learned so much on nutrition, for & technique.
